Coe-Ziegelman Apt.

A couple’s Brooklyn Heights brownstone apt. was transformed into a more open, dynamic space that allowed her cooking school for children to operate within the home. A mid-century school / institutional style was used that feels appropriate for both the classes of 10 kids as well as the family’s life there. Removing load-bearing walls and other structural modifications allowed the existing cramped kitchen and dining rooms to be combined into this open and functional kitchen-classroom space, and also create the expression of a solid central brick core.
